When the day is done, our volunteers will return to the City Fountains in front of Warren City Hall for a dinner celebration. Jones Enterprise will be handling the mowing and trimming for the 2010 Program.
Originally the program called for multiple landscaping companies to cover the properties, requiring them to mow and trim the homes thru October 31. When asked, owner Walter Jones offered to maintain all of the 2010 homes without hesitation. "The least we can do is give back to a community who has given us the opportunity to be in business." Pittsburgh Paints is helping us with our paint supply needs in 2010.
The Pittsburgh Paints store at 13344 East 11 Mile Road in Warren has donated paint and given deep discounts on supplies so that we can scrape and paint a blighted garage for a senior, and a blighted deck and playscape equipment at a foreclosed property. Rizzo Services is providing waste removal bins for the 2010 Program.
The program requires that our volunteers remove lawn waste, rubbish, and trash from the homes we'll be working on. The City of Warren has embraced this program from the very beginning, thanks to the leadership and support of Mayor Jim Fouts, and the focused participation of several City Departments.
The City is hosting the Saturday morning press conference in City Hall's atrium, and will be providing the use of it's City Square Pavilion for the Celebration!Fellowship on Saturday afternoon.
